How to Use your watch as a
compass.
Hold the face of your watch up and point the hour hand towards the
sun. Half the distance between the hour hand and twelve o'clock will
be due south.
If you have a digital watch draw a old style watch face on the ground
using a stick. Draw the hour hand first so it points toward the sun. Now
orient yourself to the clock on the ground and add the rest of the numbers
to your drawing. Again, half the time between the hour hand and the twelve
o'clock position will be due south.
